The role
Wash Engineer Assistant will be responsible for delivery the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of the water, sanitation facilities at community, health center, CFS, GFS and TLC supported by SCI. S/he need to work together with volunteer and mobilizer to deliver quality intervention on time. Regular functionality follows up of the facilities constructed at both community and institution is one of the core activities to be under taken by the position holder. The position holder need to prepare the monthly plan based on the project duration and follow accordingly. The position holders are responsible to have regular coordination with field team of CP, Education and health during delivering construction activities and ensure safety during and after construction. S/he require to have extensive day to day supervision of construction, quality control at site.

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, construction engineering or other relevant professional field.
  • Professional expérience of minimum of 3 years in the field of construction including 2 years in WASH infrastructure Works
  • Practical knowledge in terms of bore hole, tube wells, masonry, plumbing, carpentry and pumping system.
  • Planning and monitoring skills. 
  • Ability to listen and adapt,
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Experience of working in NGO sector ; preferred on humanitarian context
  • Perfect knowledge of local language
  • Community mobilization skills
  • Good Knowledge on public health issues and hygiène promotion

Contract length:   03 months, possibility of extension depending on availability of funding and performance
