Child Safeguarding Coordinator (1), Rohingya Response

The role:
Under the direct supervision of the Child Safeguarding Manager, the position will coordinate and implement planned activities aiming to ensure minimum standards of Child Safeguarding at distribution program funded by WFP. S/he will be also responsible to set up child safeguarding systems and do the necessary coordination throughout the distribution program. The role is also expected to develop a child safeguarding reporting mechanism as well as ensure it’s proper implementation for each project locations/distribution points. The incumbent will also ensure ongoing risk assessment and mitigation measures are integrated in the working plans, proposals and project activities related to distribution program. S/he will ensure child safeguarding concerns involving the program are reported and handled in line with the CS local procedures. S/he will work closely with partner organizations to build their capacity on child safeguarding system and procedures.

Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 4 years’ demonstrated experience of working in child protection/child safeguarding in development sector.
  • S/he is expected to have knowledge about risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • Hands on experience of working with partners along with undertaking training programs in child protection/safeguarding for different level are also essential
  • Ability to work under pressure; be flexible in challenging situation; excellent interpersonal and communication skill both in English and Bangla; Excellent report writing skills are other pre requisites.
  • Master’s Degree preferably in Social Sciences or relevant discipline
  • Considering the relevant experience and familiarity with local context education may relaxed. 

Contract length: 06 months with possibilities of extension
