Advisor Pneumonia Centenary Commitment

The role

The Advisor - Pneumonia Centenary Commitment (PCC) will be responsible for overall planning and implementation of PCC activities at country level. S/he will take lead in revitalization and functioning of pneumonia coalition and to coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies and Development Partners. S/he will also advocate integration of pneumonia issue in national and Save the Children child health programs/strategies and look for funding opportunities for pneumonia advocacy work and programming. S/he will represent in Save the Children Global Pneumonia Leadership Group and will act as point of contact for the Save the Children Member Neutral Backstop Technical Assistance.

Qualifications and experience

  • MBBS Degree is required, preferably with MPH or equivalent;
  • Extensive knowledge in Child Health programming; working in MOHFW system is an asset.
  • At least 10 years of experience in engaging and working with government, donor agencies and other national players; of which 6 years of experience in Child Health program management.
  • Excellent understanding of Bangladesh health service delivery systems; ability to work in highly complex environment,
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, along with negotiation, writing and presentation skills.
  • Working experience in Government service is must; Program Manager and/or above level in MOHFW.
  • Willingness to work in NGO environment under lien or after retirement from the government service.

Contract length: 1 year with possibility of extension for longer period
