SPRING is a five-year USAID-funded Cooperative Agreement to strengthen global and country efforts to scale up high impact nutrition practices and policies and improve maternal and child nutrition outcomes. SPRING focuses on the prevention of stunting and maternal and child anemia in the first 1,000 days of life. Its interventions address structural constraints to improve nutrition and are designed to increase household knowledge on nutrition and access to resources in diverse foods, poultry and income generation while simultaneously promoting improved hygiene in 40 upazilas in Barisal and Khulna divisions.
The Strengthening Partnerships, Results, and Innovations in Nutrition Globally Project, SPRING, is managed by the JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., with partners, Helen Keller International, The Manoff Group, Save the Children, and the International Food Policy Research Institute. SPRING/Bangladesh is looking for a highly qualified personnel for the position of Program Operations Coordinator

Position: SPRING/Bangladesh Program Operations Coordinator - 1 Position (Based in Dhaka)

Required qualification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in the field of business, management, grant management or a related relevant course.
  • At least five years’ experience providing support to the implementation of a project from an operational standpoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Demonstrates that s/he is a team player.
  • Has knowledge in supply management
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably in the MS Office package
  • Experience with USAID a plus

Function: The SPRING/Bangladesh Program Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Deputy Country Manager and Country Manager by providing day-to-day support for program operations, coordination of communications and review of SPRING/Bangladesh activities. He/she provides support to SPRING/Bangladesh office operations in the implementation of activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides programmatic and operational support to SPRING/Bangladesh team members to facilitate the coordination and implementation of activities in accordance with USAID and SPRING requirements.
  • In collaboration with the SPRING/Bangladesh Deputy Country Manager, ensures the ongoing assessment of implementation and adjustment of the implementation model as needed.
  • In collaboration with the SPRING/Bangladesh Deputy Country Manager provides support to ensure that SPRING interventions are implemented successfully and in a timely manner.
  • In collaboration with the appropriate partners, coordinate the development, technical review, and approval of scopes of work for hiring local consultants, NGOs or international STTA.
  • Coordinates the development of, and/or the timely completion/review of, reports, such as: monthly and quarterly reports, trip reports, strategic plans, workplan revisions, technical and strategy papers, and other materials, as required. Provides quality assurance reviews in all program deliverables and materials.
  • As needed and as directed by DCM, travels to field to assist with field activities, including advocacy meetings, training of trainers, and workshops.
  • In collaboration with the SPRING/Bangladesh Country Manager and Deputy Country Manager, coordinates routine communications and routine team meetings and updates.
  • S/he reports to the Deputy Country Manager.
