SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh www.sos-bangladesh.org is a private, non-political and non-denominational child welfare organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment.SOS Children’s Villages International, the mother organisation of SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh is one of the largest private child welfare organisation presently working in 135 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972. Applications are invited for the following position:

Position: Officer-Programme

Job Location: SOS Children’s Village Chittagong

Qualification & Experience: 

  • Hons. & Masters in any discipline (preferably in Social Science) with excellent academic records. (At least second Division / Class in all public examinations.)
  • Experienced Candidate will get preference.
  • Must have good command in English (both written & oral) and ability to report writing.
  • Good communication skills, proactive, team player and capability to work under pressure.
  • Adequate knowledge and skills in computer applications, especially MS office packages & ICT and flexible to work in software.
  • Age limit 25-35 years.

  • Strong interest in the needs and development of children.
  • Sensitivity to gender issues.
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment.
  • Strong moral character and good physical & mental health.

Key Performance Area: 

  • Actively support SOS Mothers and Aunts by holding regular group or individual coaching/ counselling/ development sessions.
  • Proactively involved in the development of children in SOS families as parent/guardian where his presence/attendance serves the best interest of the children.
  • Actively involved to promote a family atmosphere in the day-to-day operations of the location project while maintaining a professional attitude on matters pertaining to job descriptions and obligations.
  • Support higher authority to the continuous improvement of direct essential services, capacity building and advocacy to ensure relevance of programme interventions for care, health and education provided to target group in the location.
  • To prepare various reports as and when assigned.
  • Organise, Conduct and attend various meetings.

Salary: BDT 20,000.00 (Consolidated)

After probation period of one year, upon confirmation, co-workers will be entitled to receive regular Salary-Scale and other benefits (Provident Fund, Festival Bonus, Gratuity etc.) as per organizational existing policy.
