SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children's Villages works in more than 130 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet, Bagerhat, Kurigram and Gazipur.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

SOS Bangladesh is going to launch a project for economic empowerment of vulnerable youths and community members through the utilization of climate resilient sustainable agricultural projects. Application is invited for the following position:

Position: Project Coordinator (Green Project)

Location of Job: SOS Youth Village-cum-Training Centre Bagerhat, Khulna

Nature of Job: Fixed Term Contract for One Year

Project Duration: Up to the December 2027

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the project’s work plan in alignment with its objectives, outcomes, and outputs.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring timely delivery of activities and milestones.
  • Develop and deliver training programs in climate-resilient agriculture (e.g., homestead farming, poultry raising, duck rearing) and livelihood initiatives.
  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions, workshops, and immersion visits to provide practical skills to participants.
  • Develop climate resilient agricultural training materials and curriculum to ensure high-quality training delivery.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and community interventions, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with community members to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Facilitate the formation and strengthening of self-help groups and cooperatives for sustainable income generation.
  • Prepare regular progress reports (monthly/quarterly/annual) for donors and the SOS National Office.
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices to inform future project planning.
  • Prepare and submit different periodical reports (monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/annually) both the financial and programme to the donors and concerned personnel of the National Office of SOS Bangladesh.
  • Maintain liaison with government and non-government organizations and concerned institutions and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of funds and adherence to financial regulations of SOS Bangladesh.
  • Maintain regular communication with government agencies, NGOs, universities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader development goals.
  • Find out minimizing environmental impact, conserving resources, and fostering long-term ecological and social benefits for sustainability of this project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture / Agricultural Economics and Rural Development / Agribusiness and Management / Agricultural Science.

Experience:

  • Minimum 05 years of experience in project coordination or management in the agricultural sector.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience of climate-resilient agro-based practices (agriculture, poultry raising, fish farming, and cattle rearing), WASH, rainwater harvesting, and food security (storage, nutrition for children, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in preparing project proposals, budgets, and donor reports.
  • Competency in ICT (Word, Excell and PowerPoint ) tools.
  • Age limit: Maximum 50 years

Salary & Benefits:

  • BDT 50,000/= (Consolidated) + Residential Family Accommodation.
