FINANCE OFFICER


SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is an international humanitarian organization based in Paris, France, which provides aid and assistance to victims of war and natural disasters. For the past 35 years, the organization’s vocation has been to meet the three vital needs - drinking, eating and sheltering – of vulnerable populations around the world. Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Finance Officer
Affectation: Teknaf, Bangladesh
Possible Start of the activities: January 01, 2019
Number of positions: 01
Duration of the contract: up to July 31, 2019 (with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities and description of tasks:

The Finance Officer supervises the management of cash of his/her base and ensures that accountancy procedures are in accordance with Solidarites International's policies.

His/ her main responsibilities in below:

CASH MANAGEMENT:

  • Ensure the supply in cash for his/her base:
  • Establish a weekly statement of needs for his/her base in coordination with all managers
  • Ensure the withdrawals from the bank
  • Support the HR department in the preparation of salary
  • Cross check cash balance with the cashier on a daily basis and report any discrepancies to the Administrative Manager
  • Supervise the maintenance of  the advance books and cash journal (safe box and cash box)
  • Keep the bank journal and establish the bank statement
  • Ensure cash box security and confidentiality of information

ACCOUNTANCY

  • Supervise the recording of accounting entries and the check of supporting documents in compliance with Solidarités International procedures
  • Record accounting codes and budget allocation of expenses according to the allocation board
  • Integrate the monthly accountancy in SAGA after the validation from the Administrative Manager
  • Support the Administrative Manager in the preparation/sending monthly accountancy pack
  • Support the Administrative Manager in the correction of monthly accountancy checked by the coordination
  • Ensure a final check of supporting documentation, the voucherisation and  the archiving of accounting documents according Solidarités International procedures

OTHER

  • Consolidate monthly communication needs for his/her base in coordination with all managers, establish the order to the logistic department and deliver the communication cards to each department
  • Calculate Expatriate per diem and supervise the payment

MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING

  • Assist in the recruitment, evaluation process and training of the cashier
  • Take part of the weekly admin meeting and report on a weekly basis to the Administrative Manager

Any other tasks the line manager can request.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs and in the related field.
  • Good understanding experience with MS Office applications, including Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill.

Salary Range: Monthly consolidated salary BDT 38,300/- and other benefits as per HR policy of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
