LOGISTIC ASSISTANT-FLEET


SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is an international humanitarian organization based in Paris, France, which provides aid and assistance to victims of war and natural disasters. Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.

LOGISTIC ASSISTANT-FLEET
Affectation: Teknaf, Bangladesh
Possible Start of the activities: July 22, 2018
Number of positions: 01
Duration of the contract: up to December 31, 2018 (with possibility of extension), Based on the implementation of new ISR, duration and terms of conditions of the position may change.

Responsibilities and description of tasks:

The fleet manager is responsible for the mission’s vehicle fleet: he/she optimizes its use, supervises maintenance and monitors its consumption.
He/she offers technical and organizational solutions for the optimization of fleet management and the reduction of running costs.

His/ her main responsibilities in below:

Fleet management and maintenance

  • Create and update the supplier forms relating to the vehicles
  • Help in costs and contracts negotiations for vehicle rentals
  • Participate in drawing up mechanical assessments
  • Supervise the schedule and execution of maintenance and repair work on mission vehicles
  • Verify that the proposed rental vehicles comply with Solidarités International regulations
  • Manage spare parts, tools, accessories and fuel inventories
  • Place orders for spare parts and fuel
  • Organize the schedule of vehicle movements in collaboration with the logistician

Human resources

  • Participate in the hiring process for drivers
  • Ensure the continuous general training of drivers and regularly test their knowledge
  • Make the team of drivers accountable for complying with Solidarités International’s procedures and security regulations
  • Consult the line manager for any problem raised or caused by a driver
  • Conduct the driver and mechanic team meetings and be their representative at logistics department meetings

Vehicle monitoring

  • Check that vehicle log books are in place and are used correctly
  • Ensure that all fuel consumption and mileage data are monitored, consolidated, analyzed and reported for each vehicle
  • Prevent the misappropriation of fuel and of spare parts
  • Ensure that the administrative documents for all vehicles are available, filed and monitored

Security

  • Monitor the proper operation of all security and communication equipment in the vehicles
  • Ensure that a fuel safety stock is maintained at all times
  • Report all accidents to the line manager

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor in Management/business administration.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs and in the relevant field
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill.
  • Capacity in local language will be preferred
  • Strong organizational skills.

Salary Range: Monthly consolidated salary BDT 51,300/- and other benefits as per HR policy of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
