Deputy Logistics Coordinator

Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Deputy Logistics Coordinator

Affectation: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Possible Start of the activities: July 01, 2018
Number of positions: 01
Duration of the contract: up to December 31, 2018 (with possibility of extension), Based on the implementation of new ISR, duration and terms of conditions of the position may change.

Responsibilities and description of tasks:

The Deputy Logistics Coordinator backs up the Logistics Coordinator in guiding the mission logistics activities.
In particular, he/she supports the completion of urgent tasks, aids the bases, and sets up Solidarités International procedures and logistics tools.
He/she takes on the functions of the Logistics Coordinator in case of absence.

His/ her main responsibilities in below:

Supply Management

  • Manage the Solidarites International Purchase Procedures and those of the Sponsors financing the Programs.
  • Ensure the Implementation of Purchases, making sure they are keeping with Rules and procedures.
  • Take part in drawing up call for tenders documents as well as contracts necessitating a coordination validation.
  • Take part in Selecting Suppliers, and negotiating prices, deadlines and delivery modes.
  • Ensure Monitoring of the Supplier relationship.
  • Update the Supplier files and Update the Price Lists. Ensure the Compilation of Price Lists and Suppliers, as well as documents in use (Import, Export, Exemption, Taxes).
  • Review the Customs Procedures and Documentation in force in the Intervention Country.
  • Process the works, service and supplies purchase files sent for coordination or HQ validation
  • Ensure the purchase files are complete in coordination as per donors

Technical (IT) Support

  • Follow the Mission’s durable equipments - distribution, follow up and maintenance.
  • Follow up the Installation and management of Office Networking System and Central data backup system; and train all the mission senior staffs about the technical difficulties.
  • Supervise and manage all the media of modern Communication system (Mobile, Internet, Satellite Phone, Wi-Fi, Office Workstation, LAN, GPS, etc.) and follow the total process.
  • Ensure that all equipment entering the park have an logistic Code;
  • Supervise the consolidation and update the condition of the mission park in real time;
  • Offer technical assistance to the teams and organize training sessions when needed;
  • Keep an updated inventory for all IT equipment.

Reporting/Compilation

  • Consolidate the monthly logistics reports for the bases.
  • Compile information on distances, prices, and transportation modes and companies.
  • Ensure the compilation of price lists and suppliers, as well as documents in use (import-export, exemption, taxes)
  • Represent the Logistics Coordinator upon request and/or when delegated.
  • File and archive the logistics documents.
  • Weekly bases procurement report  to the base logistics manager and logistics coordinator

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • MBA/Master’s degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs and in the relevant field.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Must have good knowledge on IT management
  • Must have ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Bangla and English

Salary Range: Monthly consolidated salary BDT 1, 18,860/- and other benefits as per HR policy of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
