Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.

I. Responsibilities and description of tasks:

The Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser Deputy backs up the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser in supporting the Hygiene Promotion activities to achieve the intended results. In particular, he/she helps in ensuring the quality of implemented projects through reporting follow up, results monitoring, context monitoring, lessons learned and knowledge management, tools development and trainings. The Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser Deputy takes part to the development and implementation of Solidarités International Hygiene Promotion strategy in the country. He/she takes on the functions of the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser in case of absence.

His/ her main responsibilities in below:

Project quality

  • To help in ensuring the quality of implemented projects through trainings, reporting follow up, results monitoring, context monitoring, lessons learned and knowledge management and tools development.
  • To work closely with the program managers and the Hygiene Promotion team in coordinating information exchange and timely support.
  • Collect information from the bases and assist in the quality analysis of the activities carried out with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser.

Coordination, technical support and operational monitoring

  • Together with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser, set objectives and specific and general indicators in order to assess and monitor the impact of the programs and to reshape them if necessary
  • Support program managers for carrying out and/or supervising task and resource planning over time, according to the objectives which have been set
  • Suggest new tasks/projects as regards organizational strategy and proficient analysis of the situation (contribute to annual scheduling)
  • Monitor the development of current programs (progress, suitability and effectiveness) and suggest modifications to Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser.
  • Together with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser, ensure and approve quality and adherence to guidelines and due dates set in any contractual documents (proposal, intermediate and final reports...)
  • Support the teams on site, by regularly visiting intervention sites planned with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser, pre-empting problems and listening to the teams
  • Ensure that local communities are closely involved in project implementation and that the relationship between Solidarités International and local communities remains harmonious, together with program managers and Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser
  • Together with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser, be involved in the review and follow up of the different operational follow ups.

Strategic orientation

  • The Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser deputy takes part to the development and implementation of Solidarités International technical strategy in the country.
  • To participate in preparation of assessment methodology and reporting formats as specified in the Tool Box to ensure timely and high quality information analysis and recommendation
  • To participate in humanitarian needs identification and analysis and in the conceptualization of appropriate activities in collaboration with targeted communities

Knowledge management

  • Reporting: To ensure that project files are complete and regularly updated with periodic reporting and monitoring information and communications.
  • Coordination: To participate in information collection, through development of a network of humanitarian stakeholders

Reporting / communication / representation

  • To prepare project and program periodic and other reports as necessary, together with analysis and recommendations
  • Compile the activity sheets provided in the Tool box form the different bases
  • Participate to the Consolidation of HP activity reports and supervise the preparation annexes linked to related activities for reports and/or financial donors with the Program Coordinator
  • Participate to the Validation of technical expertise reports
  • Represent the organization when asked and/or delegated to do so
  • In conjunction with the Hygiene Promotion Technical Adviser, establish and maintain a communication network and good relations with local/government authorities, financial donor representatives, UN agencies and other international agencies
  • Ensure with the Program Coordinator that SI is represented at all meetings or forums concerning HP activities

II. Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field with experience of working in NGO/Ingo
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience of working in relevant field.
  • Experienced profile in WASH with knowledge in Hygiene promotion and/or communication with communities.
  • Experience in soft program implementation.
  • Experience in Community mobilization and cash for work projects
  • Good understanding experience with MS Office applications, including Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill.

III. Salary Range: Monthly consolidated salary BDT 69,500 and other benefits as per HR policy of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
