Project Description:
SI is preparing to implement a one-year extension of the DG MESA to provide the USAID DG office with flexible, demand-driven, technical, analytic, advisory, training, monitoring, evaluation, and related support services for performance measurement, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, activity mapping, and performance information management and dissemination activities. This includes monitoring and evaluation technical support to the DG office for performance management at three levels: the DG Results Framework, which includes all IRs; individual project level Results Frameworks; and sectoral requirements - including sectors in which the DG office is engaged.  There will be a field office based in Dhaka.

Position Description:
SI is seeking a full-time Driver to support the USAID-funded Bangladesh DG MESA project.

The position will be for one year. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Drive the Chief of Party and technical staff to meetings and project site visits as needed;
  2. Deliver documents to USAID Mission and Implementing Partners as needed;
  3. Provide pre-trip route security assessments with oversight from the Finance and Administration Manager;
  4. Provide basic maintenance for vehicles and routine daily vehicle checks; keep vehicles clean and in good mechanical order; -
  5. Carry out project logistics, to include procurement of goods from vendors and transportation of goods and supplies;
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum three years’ driving experience with USAID, NGOs, or development organizations in Bangladesh. Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of USAID vehicle security policies and procedures.
  2. Familiarity with urban and rural driving.   
  3. Valid and clean driver’s license.
  4. No criminal record.
  5. Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety (experience as a mechanic a plus)
  6. Capable of properly completing written documentation
  7. Basic command of the English language.
  8. Completion of a professional driving course is a plus.
  9. Completion of a medical first aid course is a plus.
  10. Reliable and prompt.
