Position Description
Investment Associate: The Investment Associate will serve as key member of the core team engaged in the evaluation of equity and quasi-equity investment opportunities, and managing portfolio investments in Bangladesh. 

Responsibilities

  • Preliminary screening of new opportunities and development of investment theses
  • Detailed due diligence, including review of operating, financial, industry and market information
  • Financial and valuation analyses
  • Development and negotiation of investment structures and terms
  • Preparation and presentation of investment proposal for review by the Investment Committee
  • Management of logistical processes related to transaction execution
  • Coordination of technical assistance and business support services to investees
  • Monitoring of portfolio investments through exit or liquidation

Skills

  • Outstanding analytical skills with strong background in quantitative analysis and problem solving
  • Keen business understanding and judgment; ability to grasp business concepts and apply to the practical context
  • Entrepreneurial nature; desire to take on responsibility and initiative
  • Rigorous work ethic; capacity to both execute well on delegated tasks and work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla; ability to articulate ideas and present analyses to senior colleagues succinctly and with confidence
  • Demonstrated ability to build sophisticated financial models – strong spreadsheet competency is a must

Academic Background

  • Academic background may include, but not limited to: Masters in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting;  Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics
  • Pursuit towards completing professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) will be an added advantage

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in relevant fields
  • Relevant experience may include but not limited to: VC/PE investment, merchant banking, asset management, structured finance, leasing, development finance, impact investing etc.
