Position: Medical Assistant

Reports to:  Medical Officer/Doctor

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct physical examinations to the patients as required
  • Ensure proper infection prevention procedure is maintained.
  • Write medical prescriptions are properly written with history and present conditions
  • Ensure proper drugs provision and the communicate instructions with the patients so they can understand treatment regimen
  • Provide general health services to the patients
  • Ensure clinical set up are well organized and clean
  • Ensure that the medicines are kept in the store in a proper way having proper ventilation
  • Maintain medicine stock register and provide medicine to patients, ensure all patients have appropriate medicine.
  • Submit monthly report about the clinical clients to RI Medical Coordinator and Disease Surveillance Officers
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of client information at all times
  • Ensure the proper application of all monitoring tools use for monitoring clinical activities
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained for all clients
  • Fill out the drug register regularly and review drug stock

Position Requirements

Desired Education:

  • Diploma in Nursing/Paramedics/Medical Assistant/MATS from an accredited academic institution or hospital; recognized & registered by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). 

Job Requirements:

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in relevant clinical fields
  • Previous experience in international organization is an advantage. Knowledge and experience with working in the field of refugee health care will be added as advantage.
  • Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.
  • Adequate practical knowledge on handling child delivery and its complications.
  • Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
