Position: Child Protection Associate (2 position)
Duty Station: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
Reports to: CP Officer (RI, Cox’s Bazar)
Liaise with: Protection Team
Contract Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension upon budget
Possible Contract Starting Date: ASAP

Position Summary: The Child Protection Associate will play an active role in strengthening child protection responses. The Child Protection Assistant will contribution to the organization and monitoring of activities within Child Friendly Spaces, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children and adolescent to play and learn in are in place. The Child Protection Assistant will also support establishment of Child Protection Group and adolescent group/leader and strengthening prevention and response to violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect against children.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Under the guidance of the Child Protection Officer, the Child Protection Associate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with planning and monitoring of Child Friend Spaces activities
  • Assisting and supporting adolescent life skill training and group activities
  • Building capacity for animator on structured play and psychosocial activities which providing to children in CFS
  • Providing follow-up support and mentoring to animators, children and youth, according to needs and project objectives
  • Assisting with reporting and data collection
  • Supporting organization of events and activities and helping with request for goods and quotations according to project needs
  • Any other duties as assigned by Child Protection Office

Person Specification
Education: Bachelor degree (Social workers, Psychology, Nurse, Public health, relevant degree)
Work Experience: Experience working with NGO in Cox’s bazar is preferable

Language Skills: 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in Bangali and English
  • Good command in Rohingya, an asset
