OBJECTIVE |
The Site Improvement Team Leader is responsible for the overall planning, assessment, implementation, and upgrade of site structures and site improvement works directly on the field. |
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS |
1. Planning and organization
- Plan the weekly activities for his/her team and have them approved by his/her supervisor:
- Plan human resources needs (daily workers, workers...)
- Plan tools and material needs (request from stock)
- Anticipate administrative issues (requests in advance)
- Anticipate logistics issues (transport, communication means...)
- Organize and carry out, with his/her team, tasks assigned by his/her supervisor
2. Implementation
- Supervise and monitor each stage of Site Improvement activities including technical assessment, works, and other activities as specified
- Ensure that the community is involved in all stages of the activities, including all groups of population.
- Ensure that standards and instructions given by his/her supervisor, as well as PUI procedures, are followed
- Ensure that all works are compliant with RRRC, government, sector minimum standards
- Respect schedules and deadlines agreed upon with his/her supervisor
- Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions
3. Logistics / Administration / HR
- When recruiting daily workers, follow procedures and directives outlined by his/her Deputy Project manager and the administrative service
- Train his/her team members to use and maintain the available tools correctly
- Track usage with monitoring tools provided
- Enforce safety procedures
- Ensure that safety procedures are followed by members of his/her team
- Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to working sites
- Ensure the receipt and storage of material and equipment necessary for his/her work to be carried out on site
- To conduct regular appraisal for the staff under his/her responsibility in collaboration with his/her supervisor.
4. Reporting, monitoring and follow-up
- Take part in weekly program meetings and any relevant field meeting on request from his/her supervisor
- Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the PUI office, accessible to his/her supervisor
- Draw up and submit a weekly task report (which should include progress made by the team) to his/her supervisor
- Ensures that templates used for BoQ and other forms are coherent, up to standard, and in compliance with PUI’s internal procedures
- Ensure that all technical assessments, BoQs, designs and other documents are appropriately filed and in compliance with internal procedures
- Take part in the drafting of the monthly program report and the CCCM report
- Establish and maintain good relations with local participants, communities (populations) in the operational fields, RRRC representatives and contractors/workers
- Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his/her supervisor any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of PUI teams
5. Coordination
At the request of the Site Management PM and/or Deputy PM attend relevant technical working groups coordination meetings, forums and other |

REQUIRED SKILLS |
- Language skills: Fluent in English, Fluent in Bangla (including knowledge of local dialect of Chittagong)
- Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of MS office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Education degree: National/University Diploma in a relevant field (Engineering or architecture)
- Work experience:
Proven experience in construction and installation of site improvement works on the field or otherwise (3+ years)
Previous experience with NGOs/INGOs is a strong asset
Previous experience in Humanitarian work an asset
Previous experience in data collection an asset
Strong knowledge and understanding of emergency programming and minimum standards in emergency contexts

SALARY |
All-inclusive salary: between 70,000-80,000 BDT |
