Country and Base Assignment: Bangladesh, Cox’s Bazar

OBJECTIVE

The Site Coordination Team Leader is responsible for the overall implementation and follow up on site coordination activities on the field including managing the community engagement team, planning of activities, and ensure that recommendations and minimum standards are followed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Planning and organization

  • Plan the weekly activities for his/her team and have them approved by his/her supervisor:
    • Plan human resources needs (daily workers, workers...)
    • Plan tool and material needs (request from stock)
    • Anticipate administrative issues (requests in advance)
    • Anticipate logistics issues (transport, communication means...)
  • Organize and carry out, with his/her team, tasks assigned by his/her supervisor

Implementation

  • Supervise and monitor each stage of the community engagement activities including set-up of program overall feedback and complaints mechanism
  • Ensure that standards and instructions given by his/her supervisor, as well as PUI procedures, are followed
  • Ensure that all assessments, tools, incorporate a protection approach especially for people with specific needs, women, and girls
  • Ensure inclusion of various population groups in this activity
  • Respect schedules and deadlines agreed upon with his/her supervisor
  • Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions

 Logistics / Administration / HR

  • When recruiting daily workers, follow procedures and directives outlined by his/her Deputy Project manager and the administrative service
  • Train his/her team members to use and maintain the available tools correctly
  • Track usage with monitoring tools provided
  • Enforce safety procedures
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed by members of his/her team
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to working sites
  • Ensure the receipt and storage of material and equipment necessary for his/her work to be carried out on site
  • To conduct regular appraisal for the staff under his/her responsibility in collaboration with his/her supervisor.

Reporting, monitoring and follow-up

  • Take part in weekly program meetings and any relevant field meeting on request from his/her supervisor
  • Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the PUI office, accessible to his/her supervisor
  • Draw up and submit a weekly task report (which should include progress made by the team) to his/her supervisor
  • Ensure that all assessments including the 4W database are appropriately filed and in compliance with internal procedures
  • Take part in the drafting of the monthly program report and the CCCM report
  • Establish and maintain good relations with local participants, communities (populations) in the operational fields, RRRC representatives
  • Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his/her supervisor any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of PUI teams

Coordination

At the request of the deputy PM and/or PM attend the relevant technical, coordination, and other field-level working groups

  • Management:  - Direct: 4 Site Management Officer 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Language skills: Fluent in English, Fluent in Bangla (including knowledge of local dialect of Chittagong)
  • Computer Skills:  Excellent knowledge of MS office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Education degree: University Diploma in a relevant field (Humanities, management, social science)
  • Work experience:

    Previous experience in community engagement and mobilization an asset
    Previous experience in protection and human rights is a strong asset
    Previous experience with NGOs/INGOs is a strong asset
    Previous experience in Humanitarian work an asset
    Previous experience in data collection required
    Strong knowledge and understanding of emergency programming and minimum standards in emergency contexts

SALARY

All-inclusive between: 70,000-80,000 BDT
