Job Context

The Poverty Reduction through Inclusive and Sustainable markets (PRISM) - Technical Assistance to the Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) component, is a European Union funded project aiming at strengthening and supporting the Ministry of Industries and its agencies involved with SME/SMCI development on knowledge management, capacity building and coordination among other stakeholders”. The project is seeking three qualified senior short-term trainers for the development and delivery of up to four training sessions, using the Train of Trainer (ToT) approach, in Entrepreneurship Development and the Role of SME/SCM Development Institutions.

Job Responsibilities/Deliverables

  • Preparation/development of 2 training manuals– one trainer’s manual and the other trainee’s manual - which shall include:
  • Training curriculum (objectives, learning goals, outputs and time allocation)
  • Training agenda; and
  • Training material: Presentations, handouts, exercises, illustrative examples, case studies, if required; and Guide/Note for each day; and supporting articles as available.
  • Delivery of four (4) sessions of the training programme, using ToT approach, targeting up to 100 trainees, as potential trainers, selected amongst BSCIC officers; each session of the training sessions to be delivered with duration of 5 days each. 
  • Adjustments to the training manuals upon completion of the first two sessions of the training sessions.
  • End-of-Mission Report.
  • Facilitation and guidance (coaching) of up to 05 training sessions of Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) that will be delivered by the potential trainers after completion of the four ToT sessions.

Educational Requirements

  • Advanced University level education, at least Master’s Degree in Management, Marketing, Economics, or a comparable field

Experience Requirements: At least 10 years

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Bangla.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and MS Office applications.
  • Highly experienced in entrepreneurial development, marketing, and capacity building using all forms of teaching, coaching and training, and train-the-trainer in emerging markets, preferably in Bangladesh or in South East Asia.
  • Extended experience in development and delivery of business and management services.
  • Extensive practical experience in the design and implementation/delivery of entrepreneurship, marketing and business management training programmes.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of Competency-based Economics through Formation of Enterprise (CEFE – GIZ) or Start and Improve your Business (SIYB – ILO) training would be highly desirable.
  • Proven work experience with private sector, and government agencies in Bangladesh is an advantage.
  • Working experience with EU or other international donor agencies is an asset.
