The role

The Communications Manager will be accountable for leading Plan International Bangladesh’s internal and external communications and management of the communications staff and resources. He/she will be responsible for ensuring Plan International Bangladesh is visible, engaging, respected and active on priority channels, has a well-known brand that is associated with its organizational priorities, and is working towards a clearly defined set of goals that supports Plan International Bangladesh’s strategic vision and change journey. The position offers excellent opportunities to shape and deliver work including Plan International’s exciting and ambitious new campaign Girls Get Equal that will have lasting impact on the lives of children especially girls.

What we’re looking for

For this position, applicants are expected to possess an advanced degree (Master’s) in Communications, English or Advertising, or similar area of study, from any of the reputed universities in Bangladesh or from overseas.  He/she must have a minimum of six years in communications positions and have developed and delivered communications strategies in development or humanitarian contexts.  The applicant must possess excellent English and Bangla language speaking and writing skills and be able to write clearly, concisely and persuasively in English and Bangla – translating complex issues for a variety of audiences.  He/she should have experience of delivering high-quality digital strategies, including extensive experience with web and social media and possess an understanding of campaigns, and the role that communications plays in campaign development and impact. He/she will have strong relations with media to influence news and programming on children’s rights and equality for girls.
