Plan International Bangladesh invites qualified and committed individuals to fill the following position:

COMMUNICATION WITH COMMUNITIES/ PSYCHOSOCIAL SPECIALIST (CWC/PSS SPECIALIST)

The role:

Based at Ukhia the CWC/ PSS SPECIALIST will be responsible to provide technical support to ensure CWC/PSS comprehensive programming and quality across the Plan International CPIE response through leading and supervising CWC/PSS team in planning and implementation, including supervision of Child Friendly Spaces. Supervise and provide ongoing mentoring to CWC/PSS Coordinators on the preparation of life skills and awareness raising sessions (CPIE, youth engagement, GBV, SHRH, UASC, DRR, etc.), review and develop programmatic tools, designing training session. Design and facilitate capacity development activities/ training of Plan International staff and volunteers in the areas of community based child protection and implementing and managing Child Friendly Spaces.

The person:

  • University degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or related field.
  • Previous experience working in Child Friendly Space, Community Based groups, youth engagement, advocacy and Psychosocial Support service provision.
  • Previous project management experience, including in monitoring and evaluation for child protection projects, coordination and team management
  • Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection minimum standards.
  • Experience in implementing programs focusing on: working with vulnerable children, social work with children and families, working with child survivors of violence, children outside of parental care, psychosocial support, etc.
  • Proven experience of providing training and capacity building on child protection technical areas with a variety of audiences.
  • English language skill is mandatory
  • Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge of Chittagong or Rohingya is a plus.

Duration of the position is Six months with possible extension.
