The Project:
Plan International Bangladesh is currently implementing a project titled “Community Driven Climate Adaptation- Making sustainable climate adaptation solutions accessible to the urban poor” in Dhaka. The project aimed at the co-creation and implementation of climate change adaptation solutions in Dhaka’s Rail Line Slum and Match Colony in order to make the community more resilient to the multiple impacts of climate change, particularly flooding and water logging.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Project Manager-CDCA, Project Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and input to the project team in different phases of the project to develop effective solutions for the slum dwellers of Dhaka to adapt with changing climate. The position holder will also be responsible for ensuring high quality of construction works and assessing the effectiveness of implemented solutions. Key responsibilities of this position also includes maintaining liaison with community, youth, different bodies of local govt. and others who is working in the same sector and assist for quality reporting and documentation of deliverables.
Requirements for this position:
Applicants should have B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with 3 years demonstrated experience in development sector in the field of urban planning, climate change & resilience, WASH, construction-urban sites and governance (or similar). Sound technical expertise in this specialized area with good communication skills both in English & Bangla and ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadline is also essential.
