Finance and Operations Manager

Advancing Adolescent Health (A2H) project

Based in Dhaka with 40% travel to project areas (Duration up to December 2018)

The Project:
Advancing Adolescent Health (A2H) is a USAID funded $6,000,000 project that aims to empower female and male adolescents to advocate for their own needs and desires in order to delay marriage until at least ages 18 and 21, the legal marriage age for girls and boys respectively, and delay first birth until the age of 20 for girls. A2H will improve the health and well-being of girls and boys, especially girls as they develop into adults and prepare for motherhood; and ultimately, enable healthier babies to be born to healthier mothers. The project will be implemented through two partner organization in eight Upazillas of Rangpur District.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Project Director, the Finance and Operations Manager is a senior level position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial and administrative activities of the A2H project by ensuring donor and organizational compliance issues. S/he will also ensure best use of resources by managing budgets, monitoring project expenses and assuring on time donor financial reporting. The incumbent will lead the development of detailed budgets and contribute to building capacity of project and partner staffs on USAID Rules and Regulations and plan for professional development. Other key responsibilities of this position also includes: ensure performance management of project staffs, maintain frequent communication and liaison with concern project staff, partner, donor and government bodies and work closely with Plan International Bangladesh finance, administration and security focal person to ensure smooth operation of A2H project.

Requirements for this position:
For this role the ideal candidate should have a Master degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration from a recognized University. At least 10 years working experience on which minimum 5 Years demonstrated experience of serving management position in a non-profit organization. Candidates having experience and in-depth knowledge of USAID financial, administrative, logistic and procurement procedures and policies will get preference. S/he should have strong background of financial and administrative management procedures, budget preparation and hands on skills in donor reporting. The incumbent should have strong analytical skills, team supervision skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently under pressure, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and fluency in both written and spoken in English. High level of proficiency on computerized accounting systems, especially SAP are some other requirements.
