Salary Monthly Gross BDT 58,000 to 70,000 and other benefits i.e. Festival Bonus, Gratuity, PF, Insurance coverage as per organisation policy, subject to qualification and experiences.
Travel Expected, approximately 1-3 weeks per quarter local travel plus 1 week per year international travel

About the role

This is a mid-level core technical position in the Thematic Leadership unit to design and demonstrate innovative and appropriate physical infrastructures and mechanical equipments’ to increase the access for safely managed sanitation and water services for slum dwellers and low-income communities in urban context.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in selection of technologies for development of context specific medium and small scale WASH infrastructures including fecal sludge management
  • Lead in design of infrastructures (i.e FSTP, Public Toilet, DWATS, ABR, Water Treatment Plants, Sanitation Block in Schools, Slums and Low Income Communities) and equipments’/vehicles for emptying and transfer of faecal slduge) in consultation with national and international experts
  • Lead in building capacity of Field Engineers/Technical Supervisors of municipalities and PNGOs for construction and establishment of management system for long term operational sustainability of infrastructures
  • Lead in preparation of knowledge products i.e technical briefs, construction, O&M manuals and guidelines  
  • Networking with national and international technical organisations (DPHE, LGED, UDD) and their national/regional projects/progarmmes  

About you

  • Technical background Masters and/or Bachelor in Civil/Environmental/Sanitation/Water Resource Engineering and skilled in CAD design
  • At least 5 years working experience in design, estimation, construction of infrastructures for poor people both in urban and fragile context
  • Should have passion for innovations and drive for transformation of vision in action
  • Proactive in meeting deadline and work in a multi skilled team
  • Facilitation skill to develop and maintain relationship with sectoral stakeholders
  • Dynamic and creative, keen to learn, can collaborate with multiple groups and inspire others, takes responsibilities for on-time delivery
  • Quick and excellent writing and analytical skill
