About the role

The “Project Manager-PAC” will be responsible for overall project management of the private and public sector oriented plastic waste management project that is intended to institutionalization of plastic waste value chain. The role will work closely with private sector, government agencies and maintaining liaison with donor, PAC-internal units and multiple stakeholders. The role will take the lead for planning, coordination, implementation and reporting throughout the project cycle for this particular project and also support PAC for a sustainable growth of the plastic waste management project through other interventions. The position is based in Dhaka and will involve need base field visit.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in analyzing recycle plastic market systems and value chains, identifying interventions, and scope of partnerships with private sector businesses and investors that can increase investment in plastic value chain improvement.
  • Ensure coordination and communication with BPCL, relevant government agencies (Dhaka City Corporations, the Department of Environment, the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute), and other private companies involved in the project.
  • Facilitate the process of technical skills development of informal waste worker.
  • Provide inputs on improved plastic recycling model and ensure sustainable growth of the business.
  • Develop activity-level work plans and budgets as well as along with the PAC internal MEL unit ensure that an effective monitoring, evaluation and learning system is established.
  • Maintain strategic contract with donor, support project in ensuring donor compliances and donor communication. 
  • Prepare progress reports, annual reports, project deliverables, and presentations of activities, results, inputs on impacts assessment and outcomes of the research interventions for the donor, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide necessary support for PAC’s portfolio development.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time by the Manager-PAC.

About you

Essential experience, knowledge and skills:

  • Master degree in any discipline, preferably Development Studies, Business Studies, and Economics. Having research skills and working experience on market system development will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the development sector.
  • Excellent facilitation, coordination, team management, reporting and presentation skill.
  • Ability to work and lead a multi-cultural team and meeting deadlines.
  • Dynamic and creative, keen to learn, can collaborate with multiple groups and inspire others, takes responsibilities for on-time delivery.
  • Fluency in English language and proficiency in computer application.
