The Role:

Oxfam GB is looking for a dynamic person who will work under the guidance and supervision of the Fleet Manager (Dispatcher could be Operations Assistant or another delegated), the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Incumbent is expected to display initiative, a positive approach and a strong client orientation. As such, s/he is expected to be flexible in performing other emerging tasks and additional duties as required by direct supervisor or senior management.

What we are looking for

  • Providing safe, efficient & smooth driving service for Oxfam GB Bangladesh programme.
  • Be responsible for the routine maintenance and cleaning of Bangladesh programme vehicles (including regular mechanical and fuel checks, overseeing workshop servicing and repairing of vehicles, ensuring warranties are availed for new vehicles),
  • Be responsible to maintain accurate log records and produce monthly vehicle reports as per the direction of concerned supervisory.
  • Providing administrative support to the Bangladesh programme as may be required from time to time. This may be including office upkeep, shifting office goods, photocopying, going to bank for various purposes etc.
  • Performing any other responsibilities reasonably assigned by the concerned managers.

Skills, experience, and knowledge:

Essential

  • Minimum educational qualification class 8 -12 or higher.
  • At least 3 years driving experience with valid driving license.
  • Ability to maintain accurate log records.
  • Good time keeping and Driving and Vehicle maintenance skills.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing Bengali and conversational and reading skill in English.
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Acquainted with driving Manual transmission heavy cars (land cruisers)
  • Acquainted with driving 4wheelled drive cars.
  • Have NGO/INGO experience
  • Vehicle maintenance skills
  • Commitment to the aims and objectives of Oxfam

Desirable

  • Willingness to work in the odd hours including evening and early morning as required.
  • Previous working experience with international/non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to remain calm, work under pressure without losing sight of strategic objectives.
  • Experience and commitment to promote equity, gender and diversity
  • Good organizational awareness
