Volunteer - TROSA


Location: Dhaka in Bangladesh
[Only Bangladeshi national are eligible to apply]

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a dynamic team player who will work as a Volunteer with the Oxfam country team. Transboundary Rivers of South Asia (TROSA) programme has been initiated by Oxfam in 2017, with support of the Government of Sweden. Bangladesh component of the programme has been named ‘Transboundary Rivers for Our Sustainable Advancement’. To reduce poverty of river basin communities through increased access to, and control over, riverine water resources.

Overall Purpose of the volunteer engagement:  

Following are the major actions where support from the volunteer is needed during the assignment period:

  • Research activities and documentation
  • Basin focused studies
  • National and local level workshops and events with civil society organizations, private sector and government representatives;
  • Local events like Nadi baithak (River Meeting), Nadi Mela (River Fair)
  • Learning visits
  • Administrative support related with programme management

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline (final results pending is acceptable)
  • Excellent inter personal skills,
  • Good command over written English
  • Experience of arranging/leading arrangement of workshops, trainings or similar events;
  • Experience in outreach communication and report writing;
  • Motivated, ability to meet deadline.
  • Experience in research activities
  • Experience or engagement with environmental activism

A motivational allowance of BDT 1000/ will be paid to the Volunteer during the period of assignment for transportation and lunch based on actual working days
