INFORMATION & COMMUNICATIONS LEAD


Location: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, Job Type: Fixed Term, until 31 December 2019

[Only Bangladeshi nationals are eligible to apply]

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 1,722,303 gross per annum (13 months) with other benefits e.g. medical for spouse and children, contributory Provident fund, gratuity, leave & Insurance etc.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced communicator who has a passion for raising the voices of communities living in crisis. You will be a creative self-starter who has proven experience in managing communications for a large organisation.

The post holder reports to Advocacy and Policy Manager

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Essential

  • Experience working in information management or communications for an NGO
  • Experience and high skill levels in story gathering and still camera operation, with competency in video camera operation
  • Experience of writing communications outputs including situation reports, case studies, factsheets/briefings and diaries, press releases, etc.
  • Experience in managing large amounts of information, and ability to triangulate information quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enjoying building and maintaining a wide range of relationships • High levels of organisation and strong planning skills, understanding how to plan and implement a strategy and capable of working independently
  • High levels of verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on a clear and direct, easy to read written style
  • Excellent knowledge of social media functioning and trends
  • A positive, confident and outgoing attitude
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a high-pressure environment and to prioritise and manage assignments in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team as well as remotely with global teams across different time zones and with cultural differences
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate

Desirable

  • Fluent in Rohingya or Chittagong dialects
  • Experience in managing relationship with mainstream and new media.
