Protection Assistant

Posting: Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar No of Position: 03
Job Type: Temporary, Fixed Term (up to December 31, 2018)

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 368,562 per annum (13 months) gross with other benefits as per Oxfam policy


We are urgently looking for a dynamic team players who will work with the Emergency Response team under Oxfam, GB’s community- based protection activities in selected refugee camps and host communities in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Report to Protection Officer Teknaf.


  • Bachelor degree in related field
  • Two years’ experience in community-based protection programming or related field
  • Prior work experience Cox’s Bazar
  • Basic understanding of protection issues
  • Experience in different types of data-gathering methodology (surveys, focus group discussions and key informant interviews)
  • Good understanding of the context and key protection issues, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such work
  • Capacity to analyze information and ability to apply professional and ethical standards to data collection and analysis processes, and research
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills. Fluency in speaking Chittagong dialect and Bangla language is essential
  • Capacity to write simple English reports essential
  • Able to live and work in remote, insecure and logistically challenging operations and in a multi-cultural environment; with a high level of self-reliance, adaptability and initiative
  • Initiative, drive to achieve results, working with others, organizational awareness, respect for others and self-awareness.
  • Basic Chittagong or Rohingya language skills
