 Public Health Promotion Team Leader


Location: Cox’s bazar (Teknaf & Ukhiya), Bangladesh, Job Type: 31 December 2018 (Fixed Term)

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 1,722,303 (13 months) per annum gross with other benefits e.g. medical for spouse and children, contributory Provident fund, gratuity, leave & Insurance etc.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To work with others to support communities affected by emergencies, mobilizing them to act to protect themselves from threats to their life, health and dignity. To work closely with other departments as Public Health promotor to ensure integrated and coherent response. Oxfam currently reforming the WASH team to fit in to the context and need and national C2 PHE Team Leader position created to sustain the design, delivery and technical leadership capacity and ability to respond to any new disaster and epidemic/outbreaks.

The post holder reports to PHP Technical Team Leader

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

  • A suitable qualification in any discipline relating to Public Health Promotion is the necessary educational background. Experience could substitute for a formal qualification, but not vice versa.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in WASH programme and some of those are in rapid scale emergencies.
  • Proven experience in complex (refugee) emergencies working through multiple partnership and collaborative models
  • Experience on outbreak prevention at community level and knowledge.
  • Experience of PHP/community mobilization capacity building in different cultures and with people of varying behavior change level.
  • Flexibility, stamina and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, to work unsociable hours as necessary and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven collaborative, and self-management and people management skills, including flexibility and respect for others and working with partners.
  • Strong assessment, analytical and planning skills.
  • Sound understanding of the importance of gender and participation in programme implementation; sensitive to the needs of refugees and disadvantaged populations.
  • Committed to humanitarian principles and minimum standards for Humanitarian response
  • Good spoken and written English; demonstrated ability to learn another local language
