Senior Funding Officer

Location: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, Job Type: Temporary Fixed Term (up to June 30, 2018)
[Only Bangladeshi nationals are eligible to apply]

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 10,56,451 per annum (13 months) gross with other benefits e.g. medical for spouse and children, contributory Provident fund, gratuity, leave & Insurance etc.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a dynamic team player who will be responsible to provide operational management and support on project designing process, funding proposal development and funding management for Oxfam’s Rohingya response in Bangladesh.

The post holder reports to Humanitarian Funding Coordinator

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Essential

  • A suitable qualification in Finance or relevant background is necessary.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of proposal writing, log-frames, reporting, and in planning for, securing and managing funds from institutional donors, and understanding of their rules and regulations (e.g DFID, ECHO, DFAT, and UN agencies, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Project Cycle Management in emergencies and/or development context.
  • Sound skills in capacity building in relation to grant management, proposal development and proposal writing.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal (English).
  • Excellent attention to detail, and experience of editing documents.
  • Ability to analyse questions and collect appropriate information to respond.
  • Strong administrative and numerical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to deliver to often tight deadlines; self-motivated and target-driven
  • Ability to manage her/his time effectively. Willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to use Word, Excel and Power-point, and other IT software packages to an intermediate level.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and relationship skills.
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to Oxfam’s values and mission.
  • A team player with highly developed interpersonal, influencing and relationship skills.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and sensitivity to gender issues.

Desirable

  • Mother tongue fluency in spoken and written Bengali and English.
  • A good understanding of the humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar District.
  • Existing understanding of Oxfam’s fundraising and contract management systems and procedures.
