Emergency Food Security & Venerable Livelihood (EFSVL) Officer

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 727,205 per annum (13 months) gross with other benefits as per Oxfam policy

We are urgently looking for a dynamic team player who will work with the Emergency Response team under Oxfam in Bangladesh.

To work with the humanitarian team and manage partners and ensure the implementation of flood recovery project activities within the project time frame. The purposes of the position is to monitor and provide technical support to the partners ensuring effective implementation of project interventions and achieve the stipulated results.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

  • A relevant post graduation degree with at least 2 years of field experience in the implementation of flood recovery projects.
  • Minimum of 4 years in relief, recovery and /or development work with INGO / NGO/ or Government, and knowledge and experience of work in EFS&VL interventions, especially use of cash for work, cash grant and cash vouchers.
  • Demonstrate very strong leadership and management skills and ability to work and also a good team member.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles and values and motivate others towards them.
  • Experience in conducting training in EFS&VL, including cash transfer programs and livelihood inputs.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing and monitoring large food security and livelihood programmes. This includes designing all necessary formats and training staff in the implementation.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, including post distribution monitoring and price monitoring.
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills as well as sensitivity to cultural differences,
  • Commitment to equal opportunity and gender policies.
  • Proven experience in effective financial management and financial monitoring
  • Good assessment, documentation and reporting skills
  • The ability to remain calm, work under pressure without losing sight of strategic objectives
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Strong commitment to social justice, social protection, promoting women transformational leadership and equality.
  • Good community participation skills - PRA and other methodologies.
  • Fluent in Bangla, Chittagong dialects
  • Proven ability to develop good local knowledge as well as excellent analytical skills.
  • The ability to use sound judgment, take the initiative and make independent decisions as well as work flexibly within a team
  • Ability to link EFS&VL work with relevant Govt. ministry and private sector to influence and scale-up good practices
  • Fluent in English writing and speaking to a professional level.
