Consortium Field Coordinator

Place of posting: Cox’s Bazar, Job Type: Fixed Term (until April’18, with possibility of extension depending of funding)

Salary & Benefits: BDT.  21,71,400 (13 months) per annum gross with other benefits as per Oxfam policy

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are urgently looking for a dynamic team player who will manage and coordinate the implementation of Joint Humanitarian Response Program. The joint humanitarian response will have implemented by a consortium of 5 organisations. (CARE International, Cordaid, Oxfam, Plan International and Save the Children. Oxfam is the Consortium Lead)

The coordinator will facilitate learning between the JR-members, organize meetings for the JR-members, monitor implementation, lead the evaluation and support the JR-members if needed to solve issues. The project coordinator will explore and facilitate opportunities that reflect the joint collaboration/collaborative impact of working together in the consortium.

The post holder reports to Humanitarian Program Manager.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

  • A master degree in humanitarian or development studies, project management, political science, etc.
  • 10 years working experience in managing humanitarian programs and response with NGOs/INGOs
  • Substantial experience in a similar role – specifically a management position in a similar context
  • Proven field experience of managing WASH and emergency food security programme
  • Experience of working with refugees or IDPs in a camp situation will be a distinct advantage.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
  • Experience and proven ability to write proposals and reports to main humanitarian donors
  • Experience in working with Consortium (either as consortium lead or member)
  • Excellent leadership, coordination and representation skills
  • Budgeting, programme accounting and logistic senior level knowledge is required
  • Strong expertise in monitoring and evaluation of emergency / humanitarian program
  • Community development skills, including participatory community assessment and planning.
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills and sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
  • Ability & willingness to travel to the field on a regular basis
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam
  • Demonstrated experience of integrating gender and diversity into emergency response programmes
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory
  • To be familiar with and abide by the NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), Oxfam International procedures and other regulatory codes (e.g. InterAction Field Co-operation Protocol).
