Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and/or strengthen partnerships for Child Protection with community-based, local, national, and international organizations, with a focus on ensuring continuity and sustainability.
  • Monitor Child Protection programs implemented by MHI and adjust programming as required.
  • Establish and/or strengthen a case management system that includes the best interests procedure, core referral mechanism for child protection response services through consultative development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide guidance to MHI and partner staff involved in child protection activities, and develop and implement child protection capacity development of partners.
  • Support Child Protection coordination mechanisms, and represent MHI’s position on child protection in inter-agency forum.
  • Support the participation of children, adolescents and youth in the development and implementation of strategies that address key child protection priorities, including through participatory assessments.
  • Undertake protection monitoring and ensure adequate focus on capturing protection risks facing children, adolescents and youth, and that these are reflected in the protection strategy, planning processes and operations plan.
  • Maintain child protection presence through regular field missions and reports, making direct contact with children of concern, their families and communities, as well as local authorities and partners.
  • Support the integration of child protection interventions into other sectors and programmes.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.

Educational Requirements

  • A University Degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or other social science field is required.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 or 2 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 or 2 years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection and/other related areas at the international and/or in a developing country is required.
  • Experience working with Rohingya refugee, understanding and speaking in local dialect in Ukhia Zone and knowledge of Rohingya language would be an added advantage.
  • Passion to work for the people with disabilities from the poorer community.
  • Attitude to serve for extended period.
  • Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage
