About Muslim Hands
Muslim Hands International, Bangladesh is an INGO registered with the Bureau of NGO Affairs since 1995. Our donor Muslim Hands is an international relief and development NGO, established in 1993 in UK with partners in nearly forty countries, carrying out short and long-term projects in emergency relief, educational and vocational training, orphan sponsorship, medical care and safe water. Muslim Hands is working for Rohingya refugees from the beginning of influx since 25th August. At present the organization is working in multiple sectors for Rohingyas like WASH, health, shelter, food, education etc. Muslim Hands is going to hire Program Coordinator for its Cox's Bazar office.

The major functions of the position will include but not limited to: 

  • Coordinating and undertake Rohingya Refugee Crisis Response Project activities at the field level
  • Representing Muslim Hands Bangladesh in local coordination meetings and liaise with local authorities, other national international partners
  • Conducting beneficiary assessment and produce summary reports
  • Undertaking and monitoring relief distribution and early recovery activities

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters in any discipline or Bachelor Degree from a reputed university

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 8 (Eight) years experience in the relevant field.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla language is mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Projects Manager and in collaboration with MHBD team the incumbent will be responsible for:

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate preparatory work related to distribution of relief packages and other field level activities
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field and report to MHBD main office any major trends such as issuance of new guidance by the local government, decrease/increase in number of refugees, volume of relief activities by other national and international partners
  • Maintain constant working relations with Inter Sector Coordination Group and other coordination forums on the ground
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge on donor and government policies on relief and recovery activities
  • Where appropriate, attend local coordination meetings and working groups
  • Provide weekly summary of the field activities and seek guidance on the way forward
  • Conduct visits to refugee camps and sites and produce summary reports about the key requirements
  • Receive delegations from the UK and visiting individual donors or donor representatives and accompany them to project sites
  • Facilitate all field level activities as per guidance and advice from Senior Projects Manager

Project Management and Administration

  • Manage and monitor project activities on day to day basis and report results
  • Support MHBD team and Senior Projects Manager to produce project implementation plans, reports and assessments
  • Conduct beneficiary assessment and draft initial response plans
  • Support Senior Projects Manager in producing project proposals and other documents
  • Assist Senior Projects Manager to produce quality result based project reports, case studies, feedback reports and other communication material
  • Support Senior Projects Manager to produce project budgets, procurement plans and maintain all necessary records
  • Provide leadership and manage the work of MH volunteers deployed in the area
  • Maintain appropriate records of all project documents including relief distribution summary, receipts and other correspondence
  • Support Senior Projects Manager in procurement and transportation of relief goods and make sure sufficient safe guards are in place to avoid theft and loss of relief and other material
  • Run MH local office in Cox’s Bazar and ensure MH work gets recognition by the local authorities, other national and international partners.

Local Representation and Liaison

  • Represent Muslim Hands in the local area and serve as key focal person of the project
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities to facilitate implementation of project activities
  • Develop strong working relationship with local authorities other national and international partners and representatives of project beneficiaries
  • Liaise and work with beneficiary representatives where appropriate and permitted as well as host communities to establish relevant recovery mechanisms
  • Liaise with local offices of UNHCR, IOM, WFP and other international partners to promote Muslim Hands interventions and attract their technical and financial support to the project
  • In collaboration with Senior Projects Manager, liaise with those responsible for managing refugee camps to identify needs and report results to the main office
  • In collaboration with Senior Projects Manager liaise with local public health authorities to mobilise resources for provision primary health care services

Others

  • Disseminate publicity and communication material
  • Ensure MH branding remains in display in all project sits where Muslim Hands contributed
  • Spread the good word about MH work by establishing contact communication channels including information sharing with other partners
  • Any other duties assigned by Senior Projects Manager or MHBD Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • In carrying out of your duties, you are required to comply with all your Employer’s policies, rules and lawful instructions and at all times act in the best interest of Muslim Hands International, Bangladesh.
              

TYPE AND DURATION OF CONTRACT               

              
  • Initially 1 year includes 3 months probationary period.

LOCATION OF WORK

  • All areas of Cox’s Bazar District and Upazillas
  • You may be required to work as such other locations as Muslim Hands International, Bangladesh may responsibly require.
