Program Officer, Obirodh: Road to Tolerance
Dhaka and Rajshahi, Bangladesh
Project Summary:
USAID’s Obirodh: Road to Tolerance Program will provide support to activities aimed at fostering an inclusive and tolerant Bangladesh. The project’s main office is located in Dhaka, and these positions will be based in Dhaka and Rajshahi satellite office.
**Please note: Only Bangladeshi citizens are eligible for this opportunity. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. If necessary, selected candidates will be responsible for their own relocation expenses. **
Position Summary:
The full-time Program Officer will be responsible for supporting grantee engagement and implementation oversight. S/he will travel frequently within an assigned area to provide surge support to grantees implementing complex or first-time grants.
Responsibilities:
- Support Program Development Officers to identify organizations, communities and community groups with whom program objectives can be met
- Draft activity ideas as concept notes in English
- Support grantee engagement and provide implementation oversight
- Assist with preparation of grant package in English for review by the Program Development Officer/Specialist, Grants Specialists, and other staff
- Conduct site visits with grantees to monitor implementation and provide programmatic updates and reporting in English in the grants database
- Assist with data collection and verification
- Assist with maintaining quality control of grants database
- Support the Learning Manager to conduct reflection events and after-action review (ARRs) at grant closeout with grantees and staff
- Provide support to the Special Projects Team as required
- Travel frequently within an assigned area and provides surge support to grantees implementing complex or first-time grants • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science field.
- At least three (2) years of experience working in administrative and/or financial management
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience in Dhaka/Rajshahi
- Advanced English writing skills*
- Strong English and Bangla speaking and writing capabilities
- Strong self-initiative with ability to implement and manage program activities and tasks proactively without waiting for instructions
- Open communication style

As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to do a 30-minute English writing sample.
