Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the following positions of “Women’s Voice and Leadership-Bangladesh (WVLB)” project, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The goal of the WVLB project is to support the capacity and activities of local and regional women’s organizations and movements seeking to empower women and girls, advance the protection of women’s and girls’ rights and achieve gender equality.

Deputy Program Manager (DPM ) Post: 02

Responsibilities:

Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will responsible to 1) provide technical supports, information and advice to make decisions related to project implementation.  (2) provide support to the Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs), networks, coalitions through multi-year funding; (3) support for institutional capacity building of WROs; (4) strengthen networks and alliance for collective actions; (5) assess the project proposal of WROs with innovative ideas, monitor project activities and to document project results; (6) prepare reports and dissemination of the best practices; (7) establish and maintain contact with networks/key actors as well as make use of available sources for gathering and distributing key information to project team and WROs and organize events especially the events of policy advocacy.

Required Qualification and skill: The incumbent must have

  • Masters in women & gender studies/sociology/social science/ law or any relevant discipline related to gender and women rights preferable.
  • Minimum 08 years’ of working experience in development sector especially human rights/women rights organisations and at least 3 years proven experience in mid management position in the similar issues.
  • Experience on designing, budgeting, monitoring and managing partnership projects on gender equality, violence against women, women human rights will be appreciated
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English and Bangla and also computer skill on windows operating system (MS Word, Excel, Access etc.);
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating training/workshop and module development;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work on a team.
  • Good knowledge and conceptual understanding of the women rights and gender equality commitments globally and significant developments and good practices in Bangladesh.

Experience to work with relevant ministry, public institutions and local government institutions and experience to work on gender equality in Global Affair’s Canada implemented project in Bangladesh will be added advantage;

The position is based in Dhaka with minimum 50% of time travel outside of Dhaka in remote locations of Bangladesh
