Job Summary

Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) is one of the largest national non-governmental organization in Bangladesh providing grants and capacity building support for human rights and governance. In collaboration with the local CSOs, it works for improving well-being of the poor and marginalized communities, through increasing their voices, capacities, realization of their fundamental rights, active participation in the institutional processes and demand-driven institutional responsiveness. The DPM-Governance will be a member of its governance team and has to take individual and collective responsibility of the team. Recently, MJF has begun implementation of Excluded People's Rights (EPR) project, 2018-2022, supported by DFID and UKAID in Bangladesh, strengthening pubic institutions is one of its components. The incumbent is expected to have hands-on experience and deep insight on public institutions, local governance, Social security programs, Social accountability tools, Citizen Empowerment and Engagement, etc. It will be responsible to provide governance technical guidance to the sub-grantees, monitoring of project activities in the field, measuring results and effectiveness, ensuring quality implementation, program report development and maintaining communication and liaison with sectoral government and non-government organizations and individuals.

Required Qualification and experience: The incumbent must have:       

  1. Must have Masters in Social Science or relevant discipline.
  2. At least 8 years’ experience is necessary working in governance issue; hands-on experience and deep insight on public institutions, local governance, Social security programs, Social accountability tools, Citizen Engagement.
  3. Good understanding of partner management, capacity development, gender, community mobilization, networking with government, NGOs and donors.
  4. Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
  5. Expertise for training need assessment, preparing/review training manuals, content development,   report writing and facilitation of training-workshop sessions.
  6. Having computer skill on MS Word, Excel sheet analysis, PowerPoint, and internet utilities.
  7. Utilize the knowledge-based resources and design a training module for the staff and Partners to help them access the knowledge management tools
  8. Demonstrable fluency in both written and spoken in English & Bangla
  9. Holding a pluralistic and inclusive moral value to promote social harmony.
  10. Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
