Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the following positions for “Ashshash” Project

i) Training and Employment Manager

MJF is seeking applicants for the position of Training and Employment Manager for an anticipated Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)-funded project in Bangladesh. The proposed objective of the project is to improve the well-being of 5,000 men and women who have escaped trafficking.

Working Conditions:
Based in Dhaka with frequent travel to Khulna and Chittagong division areas

STATUS: Full time; contingent upon continuation of donor funding

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training and Employment Manager will lead to implement activities related to improved wellbeing of men and women who have escaped trafficking by improving their well-being, so that they are able to lead a dignified life. This includes working with training service providers (TSPs) in Chittagong and Khulna division areas to deliver vocational, life skills, and entrepreneurship trainings. The manager will also work with monitoring and knowledge management team to document best practices and learning for further programme development.
  
Roles of Training and Employment Manager:

  • Oversee partners and lead overall work planning and implementation of activities related to training and employment for survivors, including vocational, life skills, and entrepreneurship training in accordance with MJF and SDC rules and standards;
  • Engage with the universities, training service providers, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders to devise and facilitate the execution of training and employment in line with program goals;
  • Ensure timely and high-quality implementation of training and employment activities according to the approved work plan;
  • Frequent field visits to support and monitor the implementation of training and employment activities
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of projects deliverables, including reports, in coordination with staff and implementing partners;
  • Collect and generate required data and information to capture success stories of the program;
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with data input and other tasks, as needed;

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from a reputable University
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a development program (trafficking and migration program experience preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of workforce development for marginalized and vulnerable populations
  • working experience on vocational training, life skills training, and entrepreneurship training
  • Explore livelihood options for trafficking survivors
  • Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and Bengal also having computer skill on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Utilities. Experience in training/workshop facilitation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently but also as part of a team.

 

ii) Private sector Engagement Manager

MJF is seeking applicants for the position of Private sector Engagement Manager for an anticipated Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)-funded project in Bangladesh. The proposed objective of the project is to improve the well-being of 5,000 men and women who have escaped trafficking.

Working Conditions:
Based in Dhaka with frequent travel to Khulna and Chittagong division areas

STATUS: Full time; contingent upon continuation of donor funding

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Private Sector Employment Manager will lead to implement activities to improved wellbeing of men and women who have escaped trafficking by improving their well-being, so that they are able to lead a dignified life. This includes working with private sectors for extending support in terms of CSR, financial inclusion of vulnerable women. The manager will work with monitoring and knowledge management in order to document best practices and learning for further programme development.  

Roles of Private Sector Engagement Manager
 

  • Coordinating with different private stakeholders of the project for achieving the targeted outputs
  • Coordinate the Business Development training for the beneficiaries through contract out private business advisory/consulting firm
  • Support to contract out consulting/research firm for assessing the market for new financial products, trades, ideas and business for beneficiaries especially women 
  • Coordinate with private companies and corporation for beneficiary’s On Job Training (OJT) after the completing the vocation training on specific trades
  • Coordinate with commercial financial institution (i.e. Bank, MFI, SME foundation) for channeling low interest loans for beneficiaries without collateral
  • Responsible for engaging with private sectors to assist beneficiaries with sustainable support (e.g. provide financial literacy, inputs, infrastructure) in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Coordinate with networks/platforms/chambers who are voicing the needs of women entrepreneurs
  • Document knowledge of project and share with Project Advisory Committee/Other programme/private sectors for further programme development

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from a reputable University preferably economics/ business administration
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a development program (Business sector experience preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of workforce development for marginalized and vulnerable populations
    Knowledge and experience on developing and execution of business plan.
  • Working experience on promotion of business/employment  for the beneficiary level
  • Maintain networks with public and Private sectors skill training and employment generation
  • Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and Bengal also having computer skill on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Utilities.
  • Experience to work with private sector for SME issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently but also as part of a team.

 

iii) Psychosocial and Legal Manager

MJF is seeking applicants for the position of Psychocial and Legal Manager for an anticipated Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)-funded project in Bangladesh. The proposed objective of the project is to improve the well-being of 5,000 men and women who have escaped trafficking.

Working Conditions:
Based in Dhaka with frequent travel to Khulna and Chittagong division areas

STATUS: Full time; contingent upon continuation of donor funding

POSITION SUMMARY:

Psychocial  and Legal Manager will lead to implement of activities related to improved wellbeing of men and women who have escaped trafficking by improving their well-being, so that they are able to lead a dignified life. This includes working with psychosocial counseling and legal service provision. The manager will also maintain organized records, contribute to monitoring and evaluation procedures.  

Roles of Psychocial and Legal Manager:

  • Ensure implementation of psychosocial and legal service activities according to the project workplan;
  • Provide necessary supports to psychosocial counselling for survivors and their families;
  • Lead program components related to and legal service provision to survivors
  • Assist to prepare reports, in coordination with staff and implementing partners;
  • Engage with the relevant Government agencies of Bangladesh, civil society, and private sector stakeholders to devise and facilitate the execution of psychosocial counselling, health, and legal services as per program need;
  • Engage communities and local leaders to improve the well-being of survivors of trafficking and lessen stigma faced by survivors in reintegration
  • Collect required data and information to capture success stories of the program;
  • Frequent field visits to support and monitor the implementation of psychosocial and legal service activities in the project areas;
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation with data input and other tasks, as needed;

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in law from a reputable University
  • Deep understanding of mental health and psychosocial counseling in Bangladesh, including best practices in trauma counseling is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in providing legal and social counselling for violence survivors, facilitating legal cases in NGO or human rights organizations.
  • Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and Bengal also having computer skill on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Utilities.
  • Experience in training/workshop facilitation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
