Korea Eximbank (The Export-Import Bank of Korea) is an implementing agency of South Korean Official Development Assistance (ODA) since 1987. With the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Korean government, Korea Eximbank provides support to build socio-economic infrastructure (such as power, transport, water resource management, health, communications, etc.) in partner countries, helping them achieve inclusive growth and economic development.

Korea Eximbank (EDCF Representative Office, Dhaka) is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Portfolio Management/Administration Officer”.
 
Job Title: Portfolio Management/Administration Officer
 

Duration of Contract: from February 2019 to January 2020 (Initially for 1 year with possibility to extend further)

Position Description:

The incumbent will primarily manage relationships with ministries and agencies under the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) to ensure smooth monitoring of the EDCF projects being implemented in Bangladesh. The position also requires liaising with various authorities in relation to a wide range of administrative functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with ministries and project executing agencies of GoB to ensure smooth monitoring of EDCF projects throughout project life cycle (from conception to post completion)
  • Support in harmonization of cooperation and coordination between Korea Eximbank and  GoB procedures for project formulation, preparation and implementation smoothly
  • Maintain and update contact information of GoB officials, development partners, etc; manage relationships as required
  • Maintain up to date records of files/documents related to project monitoring
  • Provide support to missions and/or delegates and organize appointments /meetings of the relevant stakeholders; accompany missions as and when necessary
  • Provide support in preparation of project documents; generate monitoring plans and reports related to implementation status
  • Conduct all administrative tasks related to visa, arrival and identification paperwork of international staff
  • Conduct administrative tasks related to office operations
  • Prepare research reports on a range of economic and related issues/events that may be relevant to GoB's development agenda
  • Support in organizing any event, training, workshop, seminar, and all kinds of meetings related to the office
  • Any other ad-hoc support tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, or related fields from a reputed institution
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, either with development partners/donor agencies, renowned research institutes, GoB, or in a comparable position
  • Master's degree in Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, or related fields will be an advantage
  • Foreign academic record (Bachelor's or Master's) will be an advantage
  • Prior experience in an international setting will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of development projects, public procurement and related procedures will be an added advantage
  • Should be a team player with a strong ability to maintain networks
  • Good knowledge of GoB’s existing Rules of Business, development policies etc.
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication and analytical skills
  • High level of proficiency in English and Bangla

Job Location: The incumbent will primarily work in our office located in Banani, Dhaka. However, the position requires occasional travel to regional areas in Bangladesh along with mission teams from Korea.

The incumbent will go through a probation period of 1~3 months as temporary staff. Upon successful completion, they will be qualified to be employed as official staff.
