Korea Eximbank (The Export-Import Bank of Korea) is an implementing agency of South Korean Official Development Assistance (ODA) since 1987. By managing Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Korean government, Korea Eximbank provides support to build socio-economic infrastructure in partner countries, helping them achieve inclusive growth and economic development.

Korea Eximbank (EDCF Representative Office, Dhaka) is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Research and Portfolio Management Specialist”.
 
Job Title: Research and Portfolio Management Specialist
 

Duration of Contract: From 6th December, 2018 to 5th December 2019 (with possibility to extend further)

Position Description
The incumbent will conduct research on socio-economic infrastructure development and other areas in relation to economic cooperation between Korea and Bangladesh. The position also requires supporting development of candidate projects for EDCF funding and facilitating procurement procedures of ongoing EDCF-funded projects. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research on infrastructure development and other areas of interest as outlined by Korea Eximbank
  • Stay updated on a variety of economic issues, including ODA, public and private investment, infrastructure development, and prepare reports accordingly
  • Create and maintain close information network with relevant ministries, development partners, and research institutes/think tanks
  • Conduct tasks related to project operations, including liaising with project officials to ensure smooth operation of projects
  • Participate and represent Korea Eximbank in seminars/workshops on areas of interest as outlined by Korea Eximbank
  • Assist project-related and other missions from headquarters in conducting their activities

Job Requirements

  • Overseas Master’s degree in Economics, International Relations, Development Studies or related fields (Preferably from North America)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, either with development partners/donor agencies, renowned research institutes, or with the government
  • Prior experience in drafting detailed reports on economic development
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication and analytical skills
  • High level of proficiency in English and Bangla
  • Prior experience in an international setting will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of development projects and public procurement will be an added advantage

Job Location: The incumbent will primarily work in our representative office located in Banani, Dhaka. However, the position requires occasional travel to regional areas in Bangladesh along with mission teams from Korea.
