Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser – Capacity (Apparel)

Responsibilities:

• This role reports to the Regional Capacity Assurance Manager – India office
• Responsible to source new suppliers for apparel
• Manage quarterly supplier scorecard process across all suppliers in the region
• Conduct annual supplier relationship meetings along with stakeholders
• Interact with other stakeholders like merchandisers, quality team, suppliers for periodic sourcing gaps
• Understand supply gaps and prioritize search for suppliers within need categories
• Build database of manufacturers with product categories for every country
• Perform trail costings and sampling with suppliers to evaluate price and execution level
• Facilitate collection of capacity data from suppliers to understand available capacity and efficiency levels
• Support the evaluation of supplier performance with existing sourcing team to understand the risk within supplier base

Requirements:

• 5-10  years of work experience in merchandising of different product categories
• Strong pricing and analytical skills
• Strong product knowledge
• Experience in dealing with different product categories will be an added advantage
• Experience of understanding the macro factors effecting costing is an added advantage
• Demonstrate leadership and assertive in nature
• Proven experience of analyzing different price point of suppliers and ability to coach them to be competitive
• Proven record of vendor development
