LAW OFFICER VACANCIES IN A PRIVATE COMMERCIAL BANK

The Bank has recently initiated a transformation endeavor with new business and operating model and strategy. As part of the new initiatives the Bank is going to recruit number of competent and experienced professionals to appoint as “Law Officer”.

Positions: Law Officer. Candidates from other banks will be recruited as regular staff. Candidates, with required banking experience but currently is in a break from Banking industry, will be hired on contractual basis with possibilities of regularization basing on the performance.

Requirements for the Candidate:

To assist Head of the department in legal issues of the Bank.
To peruse & follow-up all cases efficiently pending before the Courts in Bangladesh.
To undertake preparatory work for money suit with regards to default loans
To liaison and coordinate the legal affairs of the Bank with the lawyer and legal retainers of the Bank.
Manage and assist in managing legal operations of the Bank as assigned.
Drafting and Vetting various legal documents i.e. legal notice, agreements, MOU, and other petitions.
To Scrutinize and verify title and land possession related documents.
To attend in any Non- Judicial and Administrative matter connection to civil & criminal dispute
To peruse efficiently in VAT, Customs & Labour Tribunal as and when required.
To provide legal opinion on different legal issues, including on land documents.
To maintain liaison and coordinate with the different law firms, vendors in connection to legal issues of the Company.
To maintain case database files effectively in time to time & update to the line manager.
Analyze the relevant actions and decisions of the Bank in order to identify problem areas, suggest alternative courses of action and mitigate risk as much as possible.
Ability to act as primary bank contact for all practical law related purposes.
Ability to take up other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Bank management.
Job experience in related functions in any Court or law firm will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 02-09 Years or more banking experiences, as per the level/ rank he/ she applies for, with at least 02 (two) years of recent banking law experience in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.
Job experience in related functions in any Court or law firm will be an added advantage.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor of Law (LLB).
Master of Law (LLM) will be an added advantage.
Must be having membership of Bangladesh Bar Association.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 48 years
