A Dhaka based leading national level NGO engaged in socio-economic development since 1974 invites application from suitable candidates for the position of Program Officer-Basic Education (Community Outreach) for its Save the Children supported Shishuder Jonno Integrated Child Development Program (SJICDP) being implemented in urban area of Dhaka.
POSITION: Program Officer-Basic Education (Community Outreach)

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The eligible incumbent for Program Officer-Basic Education (Community Outreach) position will be the person who will be responsible for-
- Program Planning and Development:
- Develop overall operational plan/training plan/materials development and supply plan of BE community activities.
- Identify the gap of teaching learning methodology and support to the supervisors to overcome those gaps in the sessions.
- Program Monitoring Supervision and Support in Implementation:
- Regular on-site monitoring of the regular session and support implementation of jointly developed plans.
- Support to the Community Educator, Community organizer, animators in implementing monthly/bi-monthly learning and reflection discussions to improve the teaching learning activities.
- Provide on-site supports to ensure proper uses and preservation of materials at centers.
- Assist in developing appropriate tools to measure the impact of training on learning aids/toy making.
- Prepare report on training, field observation and others when necessary.
- Training and Materials Development:
- Design/assist in developing different training courses and training materials for the program in the areas of BE.
- Facilitate training for staffs and stakeholders.
- Follow up training at field level for smooth implementation and finding gaps between session and field.
- Develop training/refreshers courses based on the observation findings and learner’s progress.
- Design and prepare age appropriate learning aids/toys for children aged 7-10 years using low cost raw materials.
- Prepare guideline for proper uses of learning materials
- Identify effects of learning materials on children’s development.
- Identify and process natural and junk materials for making relatively durable and safe learning aids/toys.
- Research and Documentation:
- Assist to initiate research/studies in your areas of work and assist in other research / studies as stated in program proposal.
- Support in documenting program success stories and case studies.
- Contribute regularly in preparation of periodical program narrative reports.
- Liaison/external relations:
- Keep informal learning network with other organizations doing education program in urban slum areas.
- Keep relationship with GO & NGO relevant stakeholders.
Budget and Logistical Support:
- Review the budget for BE activities.
- Review the materials/learning materials & using plan for BE activities.
- Track and follow up BE centers learning materials at center/field level.
- Support in ensuring necessary materials are timely available with quality and quantity and properly utilized.
- Support in organizing different events of the program.
- Willing to work in any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in Bangladesh
- Attend trainings, meetings, and workshops to update knowledge and skills as assigned and disseminate new knowledge/ information/lessons learnt.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Educational Requirements
Master degree in Social Science/ Non-formal education/ urban development or relevant area.
Experience Requirements
At least 3 years of working experience including at least 2 years in basic education program in which training facilitation skill is mandatory.
Job Requirements
- Age at most 40 years
- Preference will be given to the candidates having experience and knowledge on urban program implementation on basic education.
- Clear understanding on learning outcomes improvement for slum-dwellers having knowledge on formal and non-formal education inter-linkages will be a plus for the candidate.
- Good skills on training design and facilitation, report writing ability both in English and Bangla
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency on computer using, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet etc.

Salary: Tk. 32,000 -Tk. 36,000 per month depending on the competence |
