Head of Merchandising

Responsibilities:

  • Leads all development and production merchandisers and guides them to perform
  • Makes follow-up of product development to identify problems and facilitates all communication channel for the merchandisers so that they can undertake bulk production
  • Coordinates between the departments to ensure risk free bulk production as well as favorable cost in favor of the company
  • Facilitates all negotiation of consumptions and cost (CM, Fabric, Trims, Accessories, Print and Embroidery)
  • Merchandising Head guides merchandisers to determine product costing within policy framework
  • Ensures Merchandisers are preparing order wise BOM (Bill of Materials) and giving opinion to prepare SPO (Supplier Purchase Order)
  • Coordinating with Planning Manager to determine/fix delivery schedule (date) and sequence of implementing all order in the lines
  • Co-ordinates with production team in order to deliver on time shipment and ensures merchandisers are updating order status to buyer
  • Guides Merchandisers in mitigating issues (order quantities, change of shipment date, complaints and claims) raised by the buyer(s)/buying office(s).
  • Be informed about all final inspection and gives support if necessary
  • Does product line balancing to meet annual turnover along
  • Analyzing customer or account wise profit margin, trends and prospects and contributes in strategic planning for sourcing new customer or prospective customer’s segment as well as finding the key focus areas for material sourcing
  • Liaison with Commercial Manager about shipping documents, undertakes all formalities (sending shipping sample etc) and updates buyer
  • Be informed about customer’s visit and gives support if necessary
  • Will organize periodic meeting with his/her team and review progress of his/her individual member’s KPIs and guide accordingly. On the other hand needs to develop team players to their required competency level and coordinate with HRD for their development

 Experience Requirements

  • 10  to12  year(s) experience
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
    Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing

 Additional Job Requirements

  • Age Minimum 35 years
  • Should have sound knowledge on Textile, Print, Embroidery and Garments manufacturing process
  • Should have sound knowledge on consumptions (fabric, trims, accessories)
  • Should have sound knowledge to make effective costing (all components of product costing from all perspectives)
  • Should have strong negotiation skill to deal costing and claims
  • Should have strong communication skill (both written and spoken English)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel

Selection procedure:

Step 1: Candidates will be called for preliminary assessment
Step 2: Selected candidates from preliminary assessment will be called to face a day long assessment center activities
Step 3: Successful candidates in assessment center will be called for final interview
