A reputed international NGO is looking for a deserving, highly motivated and self driven individual to fill in the position of:    

PROGRAMME MANAGER

The position is responsible for leading and implementing the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) focused urban programme by partner NGOs through developing strategies including situation analysis. Programme designing, operational planning, budgeting ad building partner’s capacity in the areas of programme management and implementation. S/he is responsible for monitoring, ensuring compliance of project policies and procedures, networking with INGO/NGO’s/sectors and external influencing, advocacy and accountability, building capacities of relevant actors at all levels on urban issues. S/he is also be responsible for leading the capacity building initiatives for partners and community on different programme related issues

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement the “Urban Programme’ being implemented by partner NGOs in selected major cities and town
  • Contribute in the process of developing new project proposal, identification of new project areas, selecting new partners Organizations, population/ beneficiaries etc.
  • Ensure programme designing, planning and budgeting in line with the organization’s strategy and donor’s requirement.
  • Lead, manage and develop the team member; monitor progress of team and take necessary corrective measures.
  • Continuous review of partners progress against plan, identify the loopholes, provide appropriate feedback & support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the programme.
  • Ensure provision of comprehensive hardware and software support to partner organizations.
  • Coordinate with other teams of the organization to ensure providing necessary support to the partner organizations on their needs and in time.
  • Facilitate fund disbursement process to the partner organizations with support of Finance team and produce respective report in time.
  •   Maintain up to date knowledge of sector and best practice to ensure that the urban Programme stays at the forefront of practice and disseminate appropriately within team members.
  • Advocate/facilitate networking and alliance buildings in respective programme areas like WASA, city corporations etc.
  • Represent in various meeting/workshops/seminars, coordinate & facilitate all field visits, meetings with respective partner organizations, donor and other stake holders.

Required qualifications:

  • Masters in any discipline (Social Science is preferred).
  • At least 7 years management experience in development field of which 3 years with any international organisation/donor agency.
  • Demonstrated expertise of leading, managing and developing the team members.
  • Experience in project management ie planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring.
  • Thorough knowledge on Partnership management and development issues particularly on urban.
  • Understanding of urban context and impact on WASH and relevant technical, social and  institutional issues in country .
  • Demonstrated leadership skill, organizing & problem solving abilities, articulation of goals and action plans, demonstrate gender and cultural awareness.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and report writing skills both in Bangla & English
  • Adequate Computer skills on MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Competent to make effective decisions, uphold organizational values, promote integrity and advance organizational mission and vision.
  • Able to plan, prioritise and organise self and others, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, under pressure and meet deadlines.

Probation                 The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period.
