Position Title : Logistic & Procurement Officer Office Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Contract Type: Project based (Project Duration: Jan. 2015 to Dec. 2015 & possibility to extend till Dec. 2017).
   
Key Responsibilities

The Logistic and Procurement Officer will be responsible for ensuring project’s Logistic Needs and Procurement. Desired attributes are;

  • Preparing request for Bids, Quotes, Collect Proposal/Quotation as required.
  • Ensure that the terms, quantity, quality, description and condition of the goods or services delivered are in accordance with the purchase requisition, purchase order and supplier’s invoice.
  • Provide in-hand support to the project implementation including in preparing events, meetings, workshops, trainings etc
  • Ensure all logistic procedures are implemented in accordance with organization and donor guideline
  • Responsible for all procurement of goods and services under Urban Resilience Bangladesh project.
  • Pre-qualify suppliers for commonly requested goods and services
  • Maintain filling system of logistic documents and vendor list.
  • Ensure on time purchasing and dispatching any material required by the project.
  • Ensure cost and time effectiveness as well as value for money if every purchase and procurement activities.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the concerned authority.
Basic Requirements:
  • BBA/ MBA or Masters Major in Commerce & related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience related field with a minimum of Two (2) years practical working experience in logistic and procurement related experience.
 
Additional Job Requirements:
  • Experience in Tax & VAT related issues will be given additional preference.
  • Provide feedbacks to COP related to logistic activities.
  • Experience with USAID funded project or other donor program, particularly in the health service delivery project.
  • Experience with internal audit functions of a financial institution, NGO, donor funded program will be given additional preference.
  • Must be familiar with USAID procurement rules and regulation.
  • Proficient with MS Office Package, Tally.
  • Have the capability to audit related and relevant areas Strong sense of responsibility and have the patience to work under pressure
  • Proven experience on program planning, staff management, motivation and monitoring & evaluation. Ensure donor’s compliance in term of finance and logistic issues other tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator, Chief of respective Departments.
  • Skill to speak and report writing in English.
  • Proficiency with using a computer, internet-based programs, and MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
