JiVitA, a maternal and child, health and nutrition research project implemented by Johns Hopkins University in Bangladesh JHU(B), an INGO, has been conducting community based research in Gaibandha district since the year 2000. JHU(B)  seeks qualified applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the following  position:

Educational Requirements:

• At minimum, a Master Degree is required, preferably in Anthropology, Sociology, Home Economics, Nutrition or Biology.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years related experience in a reputed organization with preference given to candidates with field interviewing & data collection experience.
• Have some basic knowledge of qualitative research techniques like conducting focus group discussions (FGD), etc.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Ensuring the quality of the research data by monitoring and rechecking the performance of the field staff from regular field visits.
• Translate and develop questionnaires in Bangla for collecting qualitative and quantitative data for various research purposes.
  
• Arrange field testing as a part of developing questionnaires.
  
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate training on interview forms
  
• Prepare Bangla training guides and follow up its effectiveness and change as per requirement
  
• Compiling & keeping record of all the procedures & field practices regarding interview forms.
• Demonstrate computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel essential.
• Ability to work under pressure efficiently, with commitment to meet deadlines.
• Good Communication skills both in Bangla and English.
• Sound logical thinking skills, team leadership and good sense in time management.
• Must be willing to work at the field level in Gaibandha district.
• Applicant must have excellent organizational skills and be extremely self-motivated and demonstrate willingness to ride a motorcycle.
• The project will provide necessary training to the selected applicants.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with relevant experience.
