JiVitA, a maternal and child, health and nutrition research project implemented by Johns Hopkins University in Bangladesh JHU(B), an INGO, has been conducting community based research in Gaibandha district since the year 2000. JHU(B)  seeks qualified applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the following  position:

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. Additional experience may be substituted for education. 

Experience Requirements

• 1 year of experience in assembling, troubleshooting and repairing smart phones.
• Advanced knowledge of computer and smart phone hardware and software, as well as troubleshooting for these devices.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, configuration and testing of android phones.
• Diagnose defective android phones and identify root causes of the problem; repair and replace accessories as needed.
• Diagnose phone application and network problems. Troubleshoot and resolve the software/ hardware problems as necessary.
• Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and application problems.
• Responsible for back up and maintenance procedures for all computers in the office.
• Ensure quality of repair and troubleshooting processes.
• Install and configure new equipment, including operating software or peripheral equipment as required.
• Review phone user complaints to determine details of problems and provide necessary support.
• Maintain proper inventory of technology assets, both hardware and software.
• Establish and maintain strong security of mobile devices as guided by senior team.
• Provide reports as needed by senior team.
• Maintain overview of day-to-day operational demands and routine operations.
• Facilitate communication with end users to strengthen helpdesk and phone support operations.
• Responsible for work as assigned by senior management.

Additional Skills Required

• Must be committed, responsible, and customer-oriented.
• Should be ready to work in remote areas in the field:  project headquarters is based in Gaibandha town with field operations in rural areas of the district.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Must be willing to have flexible work hours

Salary is competitive and commensurate with relevant experience.
