Field Coordinator (Consultant)

Job Summary                                                                        

Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is hiring a Field Coordinator (Consultant) for performing different type of work for Rohingya support and liaison with different stakeholders. The consultant, titled Field Coordinator, will be responsible for executing different type of emergency and refugee situations work. Field Coordinator (Consultant) will  Reports to: DCOP & SBCC Advisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

JHU CCP is hiring a local consultant for performing different type of work for Rohingya support and liaison with different stakeholders. The consultant, titled Field Coordinator, will be responsible for executing the following tasks:

  • Coordinate the strategic partnerships with CwC, BCC Coordination Committee and others
  • Coordinate and schedule the capacity building workshops
  • Coordinate and organize outreach sessions in partnership with UN/UNICEF, government and other organizations.
  • Manage schedules of external resource personnel required for training
  • Support in developing the course materials about RMNH and BCC experts and printing where necessary
  • Work with the MEL team to coordinate the capacity building needs assessments, and the evaluation of these partnerships
  • Work with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Information to facilitate the capacity building partnerships
  • Conduct/organize Training Package for IPC skills of the front-line workers
  • Support the development of key life-saving messages based on information needs on the ground and pretesting before use
  • Assist in Master ToT trainings for CWC members and local partners
  • Attend relevant project workshops, meetings, sessions, etc. as required
  • Work with different level stakeholders 
  • Provide mentoring support for cascade trainings
  • Support development of smart technology outreach tools – audio visual materials, mobile application
  • Develop/support preparation of monitoring tools and templates to measure the impact of training of outreach workers
  • Support the development of relevant messages to address key risks and behavior
  • Work with COP/DCOP, JHU CCP and other relevant personnel, as required

Desired qualifications and attributes:
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor of Arts. 5 years in development sector including knowledge and understanding on emergency and refugee situations.

Language Skills: Excellent written and oral skills in Bangla and English. 

Time frame:
            6 months period (with a possibility of extension depending on fund availability)

Skills, knowledge and experience requirements:

  • Proven experience in the assessments and analysis of communication based training needs and capacity development using systems approaches
  • Proven experience and expertise in developing and rolling out of contextualized training packages on effective communication skills, including IPC for cross-sectoral life-saving messages;
  • Strong written and spoken communication in Bangla; knowledge of Burmese and Chittagongian language / dialects will be preferred;
  • Prior work experience with UN agencies and government departments will be preferred
