Assistant Project Coordinator

BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University was established in 2004 as an international educational and research institution focusing on the integral areas of teaching, research, and services. The goal of the School is not only to impart knowledge but also to act as a center of excellence in knowledge creation through research and training that connects with practice. We are looking for an Assistant Project Coordinator for the School.

Key Responsibility

  • Organizing and controlling project activities, under the direction of the Dean/Project coordinator and Dean
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth operations all activities of the Project in consultation with the Project coordinator.
  • Co-Develop detailed implementation plans of the project activities and prepare budget
  • Co-Liaise diplomatically with the local and international partners and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the project components.
  • Assist in developing the research/project proposals, data analysis and report writing.
  • Report on time and carry out monitoring of project activities.
  • Support all mid and junior team members and ensure deliverables are on track.
  • Take part in strategic decision making of the organization.
  • Co-Develop budget with Project Coordinator and finance team.
  • Update finance and HR team if any changes occur in project human resources and budgetary issues.
  • Execute and monitor project activities.
  • Willingness to think out of the box, and work in an unconventional innovative project.
  • Assist in course content development and organization.
  • Perform extensive research on project related topics.
  • Manage changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work.
  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple projects.
  • Prepare and update project plans and status reports.
  • Provide updates on customer and corporate issues, participating in scheduled operational meetings as in routine with team leads and employees.
  • Support project coordinator to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget.
  • Prepare documents regarding project status, develop project-related documentation and implement lessons learned.

Education and Experience/Skills

  • Post Graduate degree in Public Health and/or and Management from a recognized University; preferably with bachelor degree in Health, Public Health, Social Sciences, or Development Studies. 2-3 years’ experience in project management is needed.
  • Excellent writing, speaking and communication ability in English and Bengali.
  • Ability to coordinate with developing partners to organize meetings, conferences;
  • Adequate IT skills e.g., Basic knowledge of MS office, Internet and Database management;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision & multi-tasking capability to work with clients:  external partners, projects;
  • Attention to detail & strong leadership in managing projects and team-building skills;
  • Shouldn’t have problem(s) with working in the rural areas or any part of the country.
