International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a membership Union uniquely composed of both
government and civil society organisations. It provides public, private and non-governmental organisations with
the knowledge and tools that enable human progress, economic development, and nature conservation to take
place together.
IUCN Bangladesh, with support from UNHCR, has been implementing a year-long project entitled ‘Biodiversity
Conflict Mitigation around the Refugee Camp of Cox’s Bazar District'. This initiative will implement humanelephant
conflict mitigation measures in and around the forcibly displaced Myanmar citizen’s camp in Cox’s
Bazar involving the refugee and host communities. It will further raise environmental awareness among the
refugees and local community, and will conduct advocacy with other stakeholders for overall, long-term
environmental improvement of the camp area and beyond. To assist project implementation, IUCN Bangladesh
is seeking competent individuals to apply for the following position. This position is based in Cox’s Bazar, but
the incumbents will require travelling to Dhaka frequently.
PROJECT OFFICER
The Project Officer will be part of a diversified team and will primarily assist the Project Manager and the team
members in day-to-day operations, undertaking project performance monitoring, impact monitoring, reporting,
and development of new initiatives, for the successful implementation of the project and sustenance of its
positive impacts, in the light of IUCN’s and UNHCR’s policies, guidelines, strategies, and codes. Visit the
